Dreams are an interesting point of contemplation. Are our dreams merely desires, and as such, obstacles and distractions en route to 'enlightenment'? Or is 'following our dreams' a direct route to merging into the unified state?
Where do dreams come from? Are they products of our own imagination, or are our dreams the whisperings of that which we are meant to manifest seeking to be born through us? Is it possible that by following our dreams we will naturally manifest the ideal circumstances that will ripen karmic seeds and, in the end, set us free?
And what are the reasons any of us gives for why we don't 'follow our dreams'? Is it fear of failure? Do we fool ourselves into believing there are 'more important' things to do? Are we waiting until everything else has been checked off of the to-do list in order to get down to the dreams business? Are we working to make sure everyone else has been taken care of before investing serious energy into finding personal fulfillment?
I'm posting the questions here, because I'm posing them to myself. Is the pursuit of the dream more meaningful than even attaining said dream? Are the lessons we learn in pursuit of the dream the real 'juice'?
Who are you NOT to follow your dreams?
What is the connection between "dreams" as aspirations and "dreams" as those images that visit us when we sleep? Are they the same phenomena in your estimation, are they merely homonyms or are they some combination of two separate ideas?
ReplyDeleteI had an interesting dream last night. I'm starting to encourage myself in my sleep. My sleeping consciousness is providing answers for me. I find it exhilarating. Sending love from St. Petersburg FL USA in November 2011 to my dear Niece C in Dubai, UAE. Life is AHmaaaazing!
